karma and astrology

Karma has a great value in the Hindu belief system and all the sufferings and well being are attributed to karma of one's self. This is also a very important aspect that needs to be factored when astrological predictions are actually made. In a tamil movie released few years back the hero would repeat a dialogue " andavan kettavanakku niraiya kuduppa aana kai vittuduva" Nallavanakku niraya kashtatha kuduppa aana kai vidamatta" meaning the the so called bad individuals get all the good things in life but not the divine power and support while a good individual gets into all sorts of problems yet would come out in flying powers because of the divine power and blessings"
In the background of the above mentioned lets see the importance of the concept of karma in astrological predictions.. The house of 10th is treated as karma and is also considered as the one determining an individuals profession, career, griefs and sorrows in one's life. Strength of this house can help to judge whether an individual will actually derive the full benefits of favourable planetary combinations contained in an individuals horoscope... For example so manay people would have born around the same time Bill Gates was born and yet why others could not gain the same mileage and popularity as Bill Gates is a question that would normally be put across to an astrologer.
Another comparison is that a prison official and a convict both are in the prison albeit for different reasons Its the karma that makes them to be in that
A person born with all raja yogas may not be in a position to enjoy the benefits of that yoga if the karmasthan(the house of 10th) its lord are in a weak position and are afflicted by malefic plantets.
