is astrology a pseudo science

No its not a pseudo science.. astrology tries to explain the impact a human beings have due to the movement of heavenly bodies . Hope people are aware of the fact that the mental dis orders are likely to be aggravated during full moon and new moon. Moreover a person affected with mental disorder is called as lunatics and its not a mere coincidence that people with mental disorders suffer more during Full Moon and new moon for the following reasons..
1. Element of water is the highest in the human body.. and just compare the tides and waves are higher in the water bodies only on full moon and new moon due to the gravitational force of the moon .Drawing analogy between the ocean and the Water in the human beings This simple fact could be easily understood..
If the moon can have so much impact on the thinking/mental health of a human being there should be no element of surprise that the other heavenly bodies affect the human behaviour and astrology is just an attempt to explain the same..

In astrology each of the planets signifies some part of human body . Its no secret that some of the glands like pitutary glands control the biology of the human system and in the samskrit parlence Sun is treated as Pitrukarakan .

Ram.. impact of Moon on mental health is still a hypothesis...not proved yet..it has been presumed for 1000's of years that there exists an effect.. none of the studies were able to conclusively prove that..check out this study from NIH in US, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=10820695&dopt=Abstract
, which shows that it might not be true fully.. they checked out the mental health of 100 people (with mental disorders) over a period of 30 lunar cycles.. they did not find that moon has any effect on all people..they did find out some difference in mean among the people with Schizophrenia..but they also show that their sample of N=56 for Schizophrenia patients is small.. further investigation, with other factors can explain the variance further...i seriously feel that it is an absurd claim on part of people to say that Moon or other celestial bodies play a major role in mental problems.. if at all those factors have an effect, they would have the same effect.. bcos the gravitational pull is just same on every single person in the earth.. there are other variables which explain more than moon alone.. another study in google scholar says that moon or celestial bodies just explain .007 variance of mental patient admissions during full moon period.. thats less that even 1% variance..
