Its Human Psychology to curse the time when things go wrong and we always look for a short cut to come around these kind of problems. In these situations the concept of Hora works well for the success and failiure of the activity that we do. In this context i would like to share a personal experience of mine with one and all.
A year ago one of my friend then working in Bombay was enquiring about how good was his time in gtalk with a specific reference to job and marriage. Considering his birth star and the hora, I suggested to him that the chances of he coming to chennai was very bright within a particular period and it happenned with amazing level of success. The reason behind was that he had put forth his question in the Hora of Jupiter and for his sunsign and planetary position at the time of birth things happenned very fast.

We often see people quoting the popular phrase contained in my blog title and i have always felt bemused many times thinking whether thats really possible.However much all my opinions and bias against astrology and similar subjects that i had possessed underwent some change during my days of graduation as it was the age when we explore many things and i happened to meet a person accidentally while I was on my way to college.It was the meeting that changed my outlook towards areas like astrology,face reading and so on and has brought me to this level of writing a blog post on Face reading.
As I had suggested in my earlier blog with Samudrika Lakshanam the past present and future possible events in an individuals life can be suggested. Face reading is an extenstion of the Subject of this forgotten art. Face reading has also got a closer link with astrology in the sense the essence that Many physical appearance in our human face is closely associated with characterization attributed to many of the planets in the solar system.This could be exemplified by the popular belief that the bald people are intelligent and this holds some logic in art of face reading as the mercurial People are associated with baldness in their fore head.Taking the help of face reading we can easily decipher easily the needs,personality traits,ability and so on. Its appropriate to mention here that Dr Edward Vincent Jones, Judge with US Superior court and who has dealt with lots of people spanning his judicial service has compiled a list of facial features for genius people,criminals though his intentions were otherwise to disprove such correllations,has finally accepted these things to be true and infallible one. Its also interesting to know that since the time of Confucis chinese doctors have even used the art of face reading for the purpose of diagnosis. In one of the Tamil Film in recent times there is a scene where the hero would be discussing about the qualities and character of women with his bunch of friends on the basis of some classification like patini sitini and so on. As the curiosity within me grew I started collecting information from various sources including internet and in a chance i got to possess some book on the forgetten art of Yesteryears - Samudrika Lakshanam. I was surprised further when i found a book written by the popular lyricist of the bygone Years Late Shri.Kannadasn on samudrika Lakshanam. As I started reading the book I was amazed at the intellect,wisdom and intelligence of our great fore fathers and could even recollect some stories depicted in some movies and thought of sharing some knowledge that i had gained in due course and I am publising this article.
So what does the samudrika Lakshanam tries to explain - Character of Men and women in simple sense. It is widely beleived that if a person well versed in the art of Samudrika Lakshanam can easily decipher the character of an individual who is totally unknown.If observed very carefully in our daily life we come to certain conclusion just at the look of some individuals - and that is the influence of the art of samudrika Lakshanam in our daily lives. The predictions in this forgotten art varies for men and women for the simple reason that the physical attributes of men and women are not the same

Nadi astrologers believe that these Palm leaves have been written by sapta rishis or the great 7 of all the rishis - Sage Vashista,Sage Agasthya,Sage Bhrighu,Sage Viswamitra,Sage Valmiki,Sage Bohar and Sage Vyasar(Veda Vyasar - the famed author of Mahabharata) . It is believed that these sages gifted these Palm leaves to seven leaves and only family members and their generation of those seven families are in the profession across the country. These old palm leaves contain couplets/poetic expression of the individual who comes in search of his roots as the word "Nadi" means "in search of".These Nadi astrology are generally referred to as Nadi Grantham in South India and Bhrighu Samitham in the North.
Late Shri B.V.Raman in one of his articles published years ago in an article written in a much famed English Daily while referring to Nadi astrology states that 1588320 astrological combinations repeat themselves once in every 360 years.

Psychology is a science that tries to explain Human behavior in a particular situation even though human behavior is complex in nature. Still the subject is put to extensive use in various professions particularly where the profession involves consultation and interaction with the clients - be it a medical service,legal profession and so on and astrologers are no exception to this rule.
Astrologers have to consider a lot of psychological issues while giving their opinion for the simple reason that every Individual cannot be expected to be matured enough when possible bad events in one's life are said. It is common among many astrologers during interaction with their clients sounding positive words and hope even if the planetary combinations suggest otherwise. The concept of Parikaram or repentance for bad planetary combinations are also a way to infuse hope in an individual. When observed carefully people in good position may attach sentiments like beginning their work and so on In Contradiction people who take recourse to astrology are normally those who have been affected by some issues with no solution in sight.
In the light of the above scenario when a person comes to an astrologer,the astrologer is duty bound to infuse hope even while advising caution on certain issues rather sounding words of doom and destruction in an individuals life. No its not a pseudo science.. astrology tries to explain the impact a human beings have due to the movement of heavenly bodies . Hope people are aware of the fact that the mental dis orders are likely to be aggravated during full moon and new moon. Moreover a person affected with mental disorder is called as lunatics and its not a mere coincidence that people with mental disorders suffer more during Full Moon and new moon for the following reasons..
1. Element of water is the highest in the human body.. and just compare the tides and waves are higher in the water bodies only on full moon and new moon due to the gravitational force of the moon .Drawing analogy between the ocean and the Water in the human beings This simple fact could be easily understood..

- To most extent, lactoseintolerant people are always intolerant to lactose all the time.. so I dont know why you have put that question. Most of the reactions are due to gene deficiency in human body. For example, we need to have a particular gene in our body to break the complex protein "lactose". We, as humans have evolved to have that. Just came an article in BBC health that states that we did not have lactose breaking gene like 15000 years back..
3) The reasons why human moods changes to climatic conditions is because of the cues our sensory receptors in nose, toungue, feet, fingers, genitals and nipples pick up and send it to the brain, which inturn controls the secretion of mood managing chemicals like endomorphin and serotonin..as the sensory receptors differ in their signals, the brain receives those changes and instructs the body to react to those cues..

Taking an inspiration from my friend I have decided to writed an article on the subject mentioned in the title "Is Astrology a Pseudo Science". and for this i am not going to defend the subject at this stage rather i am going to put forward some questions to the rationalists and would be happy if they could answer those questions..

Any time someone does something completely bizarre and out of character, it's always makes me want to look at their astrological chart. Often we have subconscious elements that we are able to keep in the "basement" of our psyche until one day something begins to stir the pot and those buried parts of ourselves make themselves known. This periods are often associated with planetary cycles called transits.

The Astronaut: Narcissism in the Birthchart

Lisa Nowak was selected to be an astronaut back in 1996 and ten years later went into space on a journey to the international space station where she was the mission flight engineer. Married since 1988, she has three children but separated from her husband in January of 2007. This week she was arrested for attempted murder and kidnapping of a suspected rival for a man whom she described as being "more than a working relationship but less than a romantic relationship."

Lisa Nowak has a complicated astrological chart. Her Sun is in the fixed sign of Taurus that craves stability and harmony, and it is in a challenging relationship (square) to Saturn, the planet of isolation, restriction and limitation. With Saturn in square to the Sun, which represents the essential Self, there is often a lack of self-esteem and a feeling of abandonment and loneliness. This system is exacerbated by another challenging aspect between Neptune and the Sun. Neptune tends to dissolve material reality and induce us to seek experiences that go beyond the material world, but in a challenging aspect (particularly with the Sun) there is a dissolving of our sense of Self and a tendency towards escapism and self-deception.

In this case, Saturn and Neptune are both square to the Sun, applying pressure to Lisa to develop a firm sense of her own identity while creating blocks in her ability to do so. Saturn and Neptune work against each other in the best of circumstances: Saturn urges us to develop strength and practicality by frustrating our desires and placing roadblocks in our way that force us to work harder to achieve our goals, while Neptune encourages us to go beyond the dry logic of materialism and connect to the world of spirit by opening our eyes to worlds beyond in a way that often makes it difficult for us to find our footing.

The planet Mars in Lisa's chart falls in Leo and squares the Sun and Neptune and opposite Saturn, forming a Grand Cross in fixed signs. The addition of Mars heightens the intensity of her rage (Mars) and shows a desperation to have her needs met (Mars opposite Saturn and square Neptune). The Grand Cross is a very difficult planetary combination but one that when integrated shows a powerful personality with strength and spirit. Often, however, that power comes at a great price and with a lot of hard work on oneself. Without that work, the personality can begin to splinter as these four opposing forces fail to bridge the gap between them.

Lisa's chart also shows a Grand Trine in Fire planets: Venus in Aries, Mars in Leo and the Moon in Sagittarius. The trine is a harmonious aspect, which many people define as "good" because the energy of the planets flow together, and the Grand Trine multiplies the ease of the trine creating a complacency and self-satisfaction. While difficult aspects like the T-square create discomfort in the individual, they provide strong motivation for change and evolution and build strength of character that helps us to get through difficult times. Fire is the element that while inspirational and creative also tends to be self-motivated and egoistic, and the Grand Trine in fire shows someone who is bold and has tremendous faith in herself and a lack of fear. Bil Tierney writes of the fire Grand Trine:

"The individual's strong and unshakeable belief in himself does allow him to succeed in his endeavors more often than not. ... He may, however, unconsciously be very demanding of attention, loyalty and even service from others while remaining emotionally unaffected by or even oblivious to their personal needs."

If an individual with this combination of a challenged sense of Self (the Sun/Saturn/Neptune T-square) with the egoistic focus of the fire Grand Trine does not work diligently to develop a healthy ego, a personality disorder is apt to follow. James Masterson, a noted expert in personality disorders, writes:

The lack of this inner development is the key to borderline problems, which occur when a young child fails to separate her own self-image from that of her mother. This happens roughly between the ages of two and three, often because of a parent’s own emotional problems. A mother’s encouragement of a child’s self-assertion is vital. When the mother suffers from low self-esteem, she has difficulty encouraging her child’s emerging self. The child experiences this absence as a loss of self, creating feelings of abandonment that lead to depression. To deal with the depression, the child gives up efforts to support her emerging self. Instead, she relies on her mother’s approval to maintain the esteem of a "false self."

The lack of self-esteem is shown in the birthchart by Saturn square to the Sun, the "false self" is shown by Neptune square to the Sun. Pathological narcissism arises when the false self is derived entirely from "audience feedback." Dr. Sam Vaknin writes:

Narcissists are obsessed by delusions of fantastic grandeur and superiority. As a result they are very competitive. They are strongly compelled - where others are merely motivated. They are driven, relentless, tireless, and ruthless. They often make it to the top. But even when they do not - they strive and fight and learn and climb and create and think and devise and design and conspire.

A Maryland psychiatrist interviewed by the Baltimore Sun describes Lisa Nowak's behavior as suggestive of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. "When a narcissist's achievement or conquest is thwarted, he or she can fall into a rage, Vaeth said. 'When the right buttons are pushed, they explode.'"

Lisa was going through a number of planetary cycles that would have been pushing these buttons. Since last summer Saturn was making a number of passes over the difficult T-square involving her Sun, Saturn in her chart and Neptune. Transits of Saturn create pressure on us for change, and often are extremely stressfully personally and financially. In her case, this event would have activated her own sense of despair (Sun/Saturn) and delusion (Sun/Neptune). To make matters even more difficult for her, transiting Neptune (which is opposite Saturn in the sky) also began a pass over these sensitive points last fall which added more confusion and a dissolving of her tenuous hold on reality.

The tipping point came this week when the veneer that held Lisa Nowak's fragile personality together came apart. Hopefully this will be the event that motivates Lisa to seek the help she needs to be able to integrate her personality and realize the tremendous potential that lies hidden in her birthchart.

In my last post on astrology i had tried to explain some of the basic information that an astrologer must know for making predictions and that's not the end rather it was only a beginning. As we progress its imperative that an astrologer know the average time taken by the heavenly bodies to rotate and revolve around themselves and the sun.. It would be a good point to note that degrees are used as common unit of measurement for revolution around the sun..
Saturn is the planet that takes the longest time to cover 360 degrees.

Moon 27 days (approximately one month)
Venus 45 days (approx.one and half month)
Mercury 30 days (approx.one and half month)

Donkey story that has its relevance to the current worklife

Once upon a time a Washerman was bringing up two donkeys.

Let us say* Donkey-A and Donkey-B.*

Donkey-A felt it was very energetic and could do better than the
other. It always tried to pull the washerman's attraction over it by
taking more load and walking fast in front of him.

Innocent Donkey-B is normal, so it will walk normal, irrespective of
the washerman's presence. After a period of time, Washerman started
pressurising Donkey-B to be like Donkey-A. But Donkey-B unable to
walk fast, got continuous punishment from washerman. It was crying
and told personally to Donkey-A "Dear friend, only we two are here,
why to compete with each other....we can carry equal load at normal
speed ".

That made Donkey-A all the more energetic and next day it told to
washerman that it can carry more load and even it can run fast also.

Obviously happier washerman looked at Donkey-B.., his BP raised and
he started kicking Donkey-B. Next day with smile, Donkey-A carried
more load and started running fast. But it was breathtaking for
Donkey-B and it couldn't act that way....But the washerman was
frustrated, so he harassed Donkey-B terribly, and finally it fell
down hopelessly.

Then Donkey-A felt itself as a supremo and happily started carrying
more load with great speed. But now the Load of the Donkey-B is also
being carried by Donkey-A., and still it has to run fast. For some
period it did, finally due to fatigue it got tired and started
feeling the pain. But washerman expected more from Donkey-A. It also
tried best, but couldn't cope up with his owners demand. The
Washerman got angry with Donkey-A also and started harassing to take
more load... Donkey-A was crying for long time and then tried its
best... But it couldn't meet the owner's satisfaction. Finally the
day came when due to frustration the washerman killed Donkey-A and
went for searching some other Donkeys.

Its an endless story..........

But the moral of the Story in Corporate life *is......,

"Think all colleagues are same and that everyone is capable.... Always
Share the Load equally..... Don't ever act smart in front of your
Boss and never try for getting over-credit...

Don't feel happy when ur colleague is under pressure.. "

It doesn't matter if u r A or B, for the Boss u shall be always DONKEY

And most importantly, Never Work Hard, Work Cleverly..... *"Success is a

It has been a long time passion for me to try and share little knowledge that i possess on astrology.. I have been a practising amateur astrologer for the last 11 years and still my thirst for astrology has not gone down.. I have always heard people saying that it is difficult to understand the concepts of astrology where as it is not the case.. If that is the case our ancient rishis would not have given us so many inputs and insights on astrology..

Astrology is an extension of the science of astronomy in the sense that astrology defines to assess and predict the human behaviour.. To put things in perspective the science of astrology try to analyse,assess and predict the human behaviour of human beings with regard to movement of heavenly bodies like the planets of the solar system ..
This can be compared to the reaction of people travelling in a bus when the brakes are applied..
This can be the best possible since there are a lot of vehicle traffic in a road and many of these vehicles drive in a way possible that the passengers and drivers donot get hurt and for this purpose negotiate the traffic accordingly. Planets and other Heavenly bodies can be compared to the drivers of various kind of vehicles travelling at the same time at many different places.

Opinion poll is a good statistical tool on the basis of which the data is analysed to ascertain whether a party will win or lose the elections if they held at a particular point of time.. In countries like India Opinion polls in the recent times have been a failiure in most of the cases.. and the best example for the failed prediction was the 2004 General elections and yet the people's craze for Opinion Polls have not gone down for the simple reason politicians make their plans to and work out strategies to reduce adverse public reaction and try to turn the tide for the sake of power.. Normally Political Parties react positively when it supports them and counter them when a Opinion polls are against them and parallelly they also rework their strategies to suit their political ends. These reactions at the best help Politicians either to consolidate their bases or at reduce the negative fall out..
Now Coming to Astrology as a tool of prediction reaction of politicians holds good for the believers and disbelievers. It would be appropriate to understand and analyse the reactions for and against astrology.. As a Matter of fact both the opinion polls and Astrology are only indicative in nature in the sense that they only indicate the trend of a particular election and the possible direction in which a persons life is likely to go at a particular point of time.
